CLAY SCULPTURE

Join Brenda Burgess for a fun, friendly and deeply informative ceramic sculpture workshop. These workshops are suitable for all abilities from complete beginner to experienced artist wanting to explore further. In this workshop we will take the theme of ‘Animal Kingdom… Fur Fish or Fowl’ and look at how various artists  have approached this subject. FAMILY TIME – IT’S HIBERNATION TIME

Snoring, Sleeping, Freezing, and Feeding. It’s Hibernation Time!  Join Lauren from the Kentish Stour Countryside Partnership.  As much of our British wildlife prepares for the winter season Lauren will look at how important our gardens are for wildlife and ways we can help some of our iconic wildlife survive the winter.  Bats, toads, bumblebees, and butterflies are a few of the animals that will be talked about.  At the end of the walk, we will get creative fingers working on some natural art using ‘wild’ materials to create some homes for wildlife and decorative memorabilia of the animals talked about.  Following Government advice, this workshop will be pre-booked, one child with one adult, children will need to be aged 5+ and accompanied by one adult.  Booking is essential £15.00 per child, one adult included.

HALF TERM FAMILY TIME

New for 2020, family workshops will run each morning Tuesday to Friday, 10 am until 12 noon.  Places will be limited and booking will be essential, familiar faces will run a range of fun, hands-on workshops.  The morning sessions will replace our historic Autumn Week, though you will still be able to enjoy a trail around the glorious autumn garden in the afternoons.  The workshop sessions will be charged at £15.00 for one child and one adult.  Normal garden entry will apply for the garden and trail in the afternoon, booking is essential via our website.  Please use the contact us page and we will call you back.

FAMILY TIME – CAMPFIRE COOKING AND CRAFT

Enjoy a lovely autumnal morning in the woodlands of Godinton House consisting of fire, food and fancy knot-work.  Lorna from Onodrimwoods, will show you how to start a fire using a rod, striker and tinder bundle. After we get the fire started, its time to start prepping our recipe for a delicious Campfire Calzone (that’s a folded pizza pocket) for a decadent elevenses snack.  With full tummies, we can relax around the warmth of the fire and learn a few essential knots which can be used in a range of situations and complete our morning by making a memento using our knotty skills.  Following Government advice, this workshop will be pre-booked, one child with one adult, children will need to be aged 8+ and accompanied by one adult.  Booking is essential £15.00 per child, one adult included.

Family Time – Needle Felting

Owls on a branch – suited to beginner Needle Felters, a gentle introduction to this creative craft.  This will be a fun and relaxed workshop led by Jude Askey-Brown.  You will create a wonderful woolly felted owl on a branch and learn how to craft a 3D core structure, as well as being guided through essential basic skills to be able to carry on confidently at home.  Following Government advice, this workshop will be pre-booked, one child with one adult, sharp barbed needles will be used children will need to be aged 8+ and accompanied by one adult.  Booking is essential £15.00 per child, one adult included. (Adults will be required to wear masks indoors)

Family Time – Indoor Gardening

With the winter approaching join our gardening team to make a living picture.  We’ll provide a frame for you to decorate, plants to fill it and tips on how to make it thrive at home. Following Government advice, this workshop will be pre-booked, one child with one adult, children will need to be aged 5+ and accompanied by one adult.  Booking is essential £15.00 per child, one adult included. (Adults will be required to wear masks indoors)
