The Ashley Dodd family, who resided at Godinton House from 1895 to 1917, were a prominent fixture in British society during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Known for their considerable wealth, they were key philanthropists, contributing to numerous charitable causes and social initiatives. Their influence extended across all levels of British society, from the aristocracy to the working class. On 30 April 2025, discover the family’s legacy during a talk delivered by House Intern, Adam Gadie.

This talk will be held in the tearoom and last approximately 1 hour (45 minutes talking, 15 minutes for Q&A). The talk will begin promptly at 11am.

Please note this event is exclusively for garden season ticket holders only.
