The 400 year old Turret Clock originally installed by Mr Nicholas Toke of Godinton House has found a new home in the Stables at Godinton. Visitors sipping tea will enjoy the soothing sounds of this ancient time piece ticking away and be able to view it’s workings from inside the stables and the clock face outside. Tony Russell, maintenance man and clock enthusiast has spent over a year restoring the Old Turret Clock, as it had been in storage, untouched for a century in Canterbury museum.
The stables has become a interesting focal point for daily visitors, ensuring they receive a warm welcome and the opportunity to enjoy homemade traybakes and hot/cold drinks while visiting the beautiful gardens. The stables are open from 1pm until 5pm daily.
