Open Air Theatre

The celebrated Rude Mechanical Theatre Company bring their own brand of outdoor entertainment to the glorious gardens at Godinton House on Saturday 2nd August.

This is the first time this popular company entertains with their unique style of humour, costume and pathos on a remarkable mobile stage and set.  The play, simply called “The Wife”, is based on Chaucer’s most infamous tale “The Wife of Bath” bringing modern day interpretation to try and answer the question “what is it that women most desire?”

The Rude Mechanicals have practiced  theatre inspired by the traditions and style of Commedia dell’Arte since 1999 and still use original make-up, costumes and lighting to give a unique performance.

Performance starts at 7.30pm with picnics from 6.30pm. Bring a rug or low back chair.

Tickets are available on line, Central Box Office or available on the night
