It may not feel like spring yet but the days are getting longer and on a particularly drizzly afternoon the buckets come out and the greenhouse is scrubbed from head to toe with toothbrushes for the tricky bits. Any overwintering pests and diseases will hopefully be scrubbed away ready for the spring seed sowing.
There’s something cheery flowering every day of the year and these Cymbidiums are looking fantastic right now.
Once all the leaves are off the trees it’s the perfect time to do a tree survey and check for any suspicious fungi or dying limbs. I’ll be hoping not to find any reason to call in the tree surgeon this year.
