Opening the gates for the 2016 season

Viv on swingVital health and safety checks have been carried out on the swing in the Wild Garden before we open for the new season.  The earlier daffodils – ‘The Emperor’ and ‘Maximus Superbus’ are already in full flower and looking glorious in the sunshine.

12aNarcissus ‘Telamonius Plenus’ is our oldest daffodil recorded from the 1620’s so may have been growing here since Godinton was a busy and expanding Stuart Manor.

The Stables ticket office is being spruced up and Angie is busy in the house baking for our NGS open day on Sunday 6th.  Join us for a wander through the daffodil meadow, hot chocolate and cake in the tea room – don’t forget it’s Mothers Day.
