A much improved welcome awaits visitors

The old stables that have been used for special events and last year for the World War I exhibition have now been improved to make a delightful first impression to all those who come to visit Godinton whether they be first-time visitors or some of our many regulars who know what fascinating and beautiful place Godinton is.

The old stables retaining their troughs and mangers, heavy brass rings where horses were tethered, Victorian brick floor and mellow timber panelling. A new counter has been made using an ash tree (known as the Waterloo ash) felled in the gardens some years ago, it has a beautiful grain and from this counter tickets are sold along with tea, coffee cold drinks ice creams and refreshments.  Available to be enjoyed either in the stable area or on the picnic benches and tables again made from trees from the estate.
