Changing Seasons

Rudbeckia and sedum (2)One of the joys of working in the garden is how aware we are of the changing seasons every day. Signs of autumn appeared a few weeks ago but now that I’ve lit the wood stove in the evening it really feels as though the seasons are turning.  We are busy cutting the wild garden and collecting up the hay to encourage wild flowers and reduce the fertility and lushness of the grass.  The yew topiary and hedges are getting their annual trim to keep the architecture of the garden looking perfect.
