During a routine check of the items in the attics we came across a worrying sight, our 1920’s wireless had been attacked by pests.
We managed to manoeuvre the wireless carefully out of the attic, through the house and out in to the sunshine ready to have a thorough check of the damage.
On closer inspection we discovered the holes were made by the notorious Death Watch Beetle.
We have treated the wood so no more of the wireless gets destroyed and will be refurbishing the part that has been damaged. This way we can have it back up in the attics ready to show the school tours what their IPods used to look like!
