The herbaceous borders are full of Aster x frikartii ‘Monch’, Stipa gigantea, Perovskia atriplicifolia,Sedums and Penstemmons.  The annual trim of the mammoth yew hedge surrounding the formal garden is under way and the lawns are getting a bit of much needed attention.

imageDahlias in the walled garden are shorter than usual after the cold spring and the dry summer but they’re still producing barrow loads of flowers for us. Can’t beat them for late colour.
