Ash Diedback Affects the Trees on the Godinton Estate

Unfortunately many ash trees on the Godinton estate have succumbed to the national outbreak of Chalara (Ash Dieback). The disease is fatal causing leaf loss, crown dieback and bark lesioning, and has meant we have had to have 19 of our young ash trees planted in the park removed.

Thankfully the rest of the trees seem to have a tolerance against the disease and are still looking strong and healthy. We will be keeping an eye on the remaining trees to make sure they do not develop signs
