It’s Delphinium season – our favourite time of year. The Queen of the Border is coming into flower just in time for the festival and roses are looking wonderful around the garden. Rosa ‘Eyes for You’ in the Italian Garden is a new floribunda rose with dark centred, strongly scented flowers.
It’s time to celebrate the ‘Queen of the Border’ at Godinton. Our collection of Elatum Delphiniums in the Walled Garden are bursting into magnificent flower and we’re organizing some special events to make the most of them. Members of the local branch of the Delphinium Society will be here selling plants and giving the best … Finde mehr heraus
One of the pleasures of gardening is the surprise of unseasonal flowering. You can never be precise with your predictions and the vagaries of weather and climate can make the art of designing planting companions tricky and the planning of events in a public garden a real headache. This year the Elatum Delphinium collection is bursting into … Finde mehr heraus
The delphiniums are budding up nicely and should be looking at their spectacular best for the start of the festival next weekend. On Sunday 19th we will be joined by Andy Garland and the Radio Kent Sunday Gardening Team, broadcasting their show live from the garden. The cutting beds and potager are packed with colour – Dahlias, Zinnias, Rudbeckias and Cosmos all making the most of the glorious weather. There are still some places on our Autumn Garden Tasks workshop on Sat 4th Oct if … Finde mehr heraus
The gorgeous Delphiniums are holding their blooms and still the star of the show in the gardens this week. Delphinium ‘Molly Buchanan’ is one of my favourites – strong azure blue with a black bee – very dramatic in a border.
The perfect growing conditions this spring have brought everything on apace and given us a fabulous riot of colour especially with the perennials in the cutting gardens. The Aquilegias, sweet rocket, Anchusa, Pyrethrum and sweet Williams have been giving us armfuls of flowers. Not so pleased, however, with the early flowering of our gorgeous delphinium … Finde mehr heraus
Our wonderful collection of Delphiniums, which we will be celebrating with a festival later in the month, have made an early arrival, rocketing up in the mild spring weather and bursting into flower.
