  If you have ever visited Godinton you may have noticed the aroma of fresh scones when you walk through the door, but as you tour the house, we hope you notice the scent of the beautiful flower arrangements. Clocks spring back to life at Godinton!

Our treasured collection of clocks are left unwound during the closed season and clock expert, Norman Bowring, visits each Spring to bring them back to lift before the house reopens. Great Chamber Repair Work

During the closed season, we take the opportunity to complete any major building repair work. This season we replaced one of the window frames in the Great Chamber that had fallen victim to rot. Portraits and Piano Return!

Home in time for Christmas

At the beginning of September, during an almost tropical storm, the gutters above the Great Hall overflowed causing water to flood through the ceiling. Flower Friday

Every week the house is filled with magnificent flower displays arranged by our own florist Sheilagh. All the flowers are freshly cut from our gardens. See photos below for the flowers that will be welcoming our visitors this weekend.  

Our New Sculpture Bench

Gardens visitors can now admire and enjoy our new sculpture bench situated in the Wild Garden. The new sculpture bench is made of a giant sweet chestnut tree that fell last winter after having stood there for over 250 years.
